Do you want to know what it is?
Do you wonder if Reiki is for you?
Then this post is for you!
Welcome to Reiki 101
Here is a little bit about what Reiki is and how it can be a positive force your life. Reiki is a spiritually-guided life force energy that works holistically on the whole person. The word Reiki is derived from two words: “Rei” meaning divine wisdom, and “Ki” meaning life force energy. Life force energy surrounds and penetrates our whole self – spirit, mind and physical form. The energy is as much a part of us as our physical body. Reiki energy comes from the highest spiritual source. It heals by flowing through the energy field and charging it with positivity.
This charging of our energy field causes negative energy to break apart and fall away, allowing clearing and balancing of the various forms and frequencies of energy that make up the construction of our self.
Reiki is a powerful healing force, providing high levels of nurturing to the body’s organs and tissues, as well as the mind, emotions and spirit. It boosts the immune system, provides release of negative emotions which may hold a person back from transformation, reduces stress and tension and promotes a sense of well-being.
Reiki is safe for all beings, objects and situations It provides positivity to anything you can imagine. This profound energy is simple and applicable to all matters. It is the pure power of Source - the energy from which we all manifest.
Life force enters our body and we choose what we do with that energy. Then the energy, which is now transformed by our choice, expands outward into the universe. Meaning, each of us is a link in this cycling energetic system of give and take. In this way, we are excellent recipients of Reiki as we are adept at receiving energy. If one is low on this energy a person may suffer from a variety of maladies. Receiving Reiki fills us up with vital energy needed to resolve disease, karmic consequences, and emotional upset.
Reiki practitioners draw this energy in through the crown chakra then pass it on to the recipient through the chakra points in the palms of the hands. While practitioners are a critical piece of the equation to receiving Reiki, we do not heal, do not diagnose, and do not dictate how the energy manifests in the client. It is up to the Reiki and the client’s higher self what happens after the energy has been delivered. So the practitioner is a hollow bone through which energy travels, simply letting go of ego and allowing the Reiki to flow through.
And here’s a little secret: Reiki practitioners also benefit from giving Reiki as well as receiving Reiki. As we merge with this divine life force energy, it permeates our self as it is passed on to the recipient, soaking into our souls and bodies and assisting with our own needs while also providing powerful support to the recipient.
Reiki is a beautiful stress-reduction and healing modality. It can support spiritual healing, self-improvement and assists in the resolution of virtually every known illness. It is complimentary to all medical or therapeutic techniques and is often used to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
I am humbled to be a conduit for this healing energy and to be a messenger spreading the word about Reiki and teaching Reiki classes.
